Who is in the Pryor Rotary Club?

We have 46 members from the Mayes County area and are looking forward to adding new members each year. There has been a continual increase in female members joining, with our numbers up to about one third. We already have had four women as club presidents. Our rotary members include: bank presidents, retirees, attorneys, shop owners, plant managers, contractors, marketing professionals, schools administrators, accountants, managers, elected officials, doctors, business owners, scientists, educators, and more.

Member Garry Harris is an Assistant District Governor for our Rotary District and Don Walker, Past District Governor of District 6110 is a common visiting Rotarian with nearly perfect attendance in our club!

The Pryor’s first Rotary Club meeting was at the Methodist Church Complex on February 17, 1944, and we continue to hold our meetings there to this day:

We meet on Fridays, four times per month, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 400 East Graham Avenue in Pryor, Oklahoma.

The Methodist Ladies graciously provide our club with delicious home-cooked meals for every meeting.

The establishment of Rotary International was in 1905 in Chicago by a young businessman, Paul Harris. He was a very successful, yet lonely business man so he started a club for visiting businessmen to have lunch at offices, rotating the meeting location each week. The fellowship and friendships that were developed created the strong foundation of caring and giving that Rotary enjoys today. Our members welcome your interest in our club and will happily answer any questions that you may have about Rotary membership.
